Yes — every shadow box is custom-built to your exact dimensions. We work in both metric and imperial: send a size in inches (9×9 in, 9×12 in, 11×14 in, 16×20 in, 24×36 in, etc.) and we quote that exact dimension. There are no stock sizes to limit you. Smaller sizes start around 20×20cm (≈ 8×8 in) and we've built shadow boxes up to 120×150cm (≈ 47×59 in). Whatever fits your item — including odd ratios like 9×9, 13×17, or 28×35 in — we build it.

Both display objects behind clear acrylic, but the use case differs. A shadow box is a wall-mounted shallow-recess frame (3–8cm depth) for items viewed flat against the wall — jerseys, medals, pressed flowers, signed memorabilia. A shadow box display case sits in the same category: wall-mounted, fabric-backed, fixed-front. A standalone display case is typically deeper, freestanding or countertop (10cm+ depth with hinged or sliding access) for 3D objects buyers walk around — sneakers, helmets, model cars. We use cast acrylic for every visible panel — the clear front, the side walls, and any colored or mirrored backing. Cast PMMA has better optical clarity, deeper edge polish, and higher heat tolerance than extruded — the difference shows up when buyers compare a finished shadow box side by side. Extruded acrylic costs less but reads cloudy on thick edges and scratches more easily, so it's not appropriate for a display product where the acrylic is the whole point. Standard shadow boxes use 3mm clear acrylic on the front panel and 5mm on the side walls — enough to keep the frame rigid through shipping and wall-mounting. For heavy items (helmets, signed bats, large jerseys with thick patches) we step up to 5mm front and 8–10mm side walls so the frame supports the load without flex. Yes. A logo, caption, date, or item label can be UV printed, screen printed, or laser engraved on a separate plaque or an acrylic panel. Provide the final artwork, print size, position, and color target so the mark is shown on the approval drawing and physical sample.

Yes. A removable front, concealed magnetic panel, hinge, or lift-off cover can provide access. The choice depends on how often the object changes, the finished weight, tamper control, and visible hardware; confirm the opening action on the paid sample before production. If the brief is a covered, divided service tray rather than a wall display, use the serving-tray lid and compartment specification for access, clearance, and divider inputs.

Use standard clear cast acrylic when optical presentation and cost are the priorities. If light exposure is a preservation concern, specify a UV-filtering material grade and the required performance; the museum-grade acrylic case UV specification lists the related lighting, material, mounting, and documentation inputs.

We don't stock or resell ready-made shadow boxes. Every bulk order is made to your size, depth, backing, and mounting specification, with production runs from 100 pieces per design; typical runs are 100–1,000 units. Several sizes can share one purchase order and shipment, with each size meeting its own 100-piece minimum. After you approve a paid sample, every unit is inspected against it before shipment.
