What we cut

Laser-Cut Acrylic Parts from Controlled Files

Laser cutting is suited to repeated two-dimensional profiles in compatible acrylic sheet. Wetop reviews the vector path, named material, edge requirement, critical features and downstream operations before quoting the sample and production run.

01

2D profiles and windows

Cut repeated outside profiles, internal windows and openings from the released vector file.

02

Slots and assembly tabs

Control mating slots and tabs through the drawing, test cut and approved sample rather than a universal kerf allowance.

03

Printed-part cut registration

Align the cutting file with approved print artwork when a panel, insert or tray component needs both processes.

04

Engraving and identification

Add approved vector marks, part IDs or positioning references where the named material and finish have been sampled.

05

Kitted flat components

Sort related profiles by design, revision or assembly set and protect visible surfaces for the agreed packout.

06

Secondary fabrication

Route bending, bonding, polishing, hardware or assembly as separate controlled operations after the flat profile is approved.

Process decision

Laser Cutting, CNC or a Mixed Route?

Choose the route by feature, not by a blanket process preference. Laser cutting handles compatible flat profiles efficiently; CNC handles three-dimensional and fit-critical features; a mixed route can combine both when the drawing and inspection plan separate their responsibilities.

FeatureLaser cuttingCNC machining
Flat outside profilesEfficient for compatible sheet and edge requirementsUseful when stock, edge geometry or workholding favors machining
Internal windows and slotsReviewed through a test cut and mating-part checkUsed when controlled bores or secondary geometry are required
Pockets and stepped facesNot a 3D pocketing processPrimary route
Heat-sensitive detailsMaterial, spacing and settings must be sampledAvoids a laser heat path but introduces tool and holding decisions
Visible edgeApprove the process edge on the named sheetApprove machined or follow-up finished edge

For the engineering comparison, read CNC vs laser cutting acrylic. If the design needs pockets, counterbores or thick-stock machining, use our acrylic CNC service.

File control

What the Cutting File Must Define

A production-ready laser file identifies the controlling vector path, units, scale, material, thickness, critical dimensions, artwork registration and revision. The dimensioned PDF remains the inspection reference when a vector file alone cannot explain fit or appearance.

Production planning

Two Programs with Laser-Cut Components

These manufacturing cases show how flat acrylic parts can move through artwork, fit, sample and packout decisions. Your released files and approved sample still control your order.

NDA available before file release. Public project references stay anonymized, and customer files are not published without permission.

Faster quoting

Buyer questions

Acrylic Laser Cutting Service FAQ

What is the MOQ for acrylic laser cutting service?

Production starts at 100 pieces per design. A different profile, material, thickness or controlling file revision may count as a separate design. Paid samples are ordered separately before production.

How much does laser-cut acrylic cost?

Cost depends on sheet grade, thickness, cutting path, quantity, nesting yield, secondary finishing, inspection and packing. Send the vector file and quantity tiers; we return a written quote within 24 hours. A generic per-inch rate would not represent an unmatched production part.

What files should I send for laser cutting?

Send DXF, AI or a vector PDF for the cutting path, plus a dimensioned PDF that identifies material, thickness, critical dimensions and revision. The CAD and DXF file guide explains the handoff.

What laser-cutting tolerance can Wetop hold?

Capability is reviewed against the named sheet, thickness, profile, heat-sensitive features, datum plan and measurement method. Mark fit-critical dimensions and acceptable limits. We confirm the quoted inspection method on the paid sample instead of promising one tolerance for every part.

Will a laser-cut acrylic edge be clear?

Edge appearance depends on the named acrylic grade, color, thickness, geometry, machine settings and any follow-up finishing. Approve the actual edge on a sample. Our laser-cut edge-quality guide explains the variables.

Should this part be laser-cut or CNC-machined?

Laser cutting suits compatible 2D sheet profiles. CNC is normally better for pockets, steps, countersinks, controlled bores and thick-stock geometry. Review the CNC versus laser cutting guide, or send the drawing for a route review.

Can I approve a sample before production?

Yes. Paid samples normally take 3-5 days after the files, material and acceptance criteria are approved. Sample fees are paid separately and never credited. Production starts after written sample approval and the agreed payment gate.

Can Wetop sign an NDA before I share artwork?

Yes. Send the NDA requirement before releasing controlled files. We keep the approved cutting file, artwork and inspection record tied to the project revision and do not publish customer names or files without permission.
