What we machine

Acrylic CNC Machining for Functional Geometry

CNC machining is the right acrylic process when the drawing contains pockets, stepped faces, countersinks, controlled holes or thick-stock geometry that cannot be produced by a flat cutting path alone. Wetop quotes the process against the released drawing and validates it on a paid sample before production.

Profiles and finished panels

Machine outside profiles, internal windows, cable paths and mounting patterns from the released drawing. Custom panels are quoted as finished components, not as retail sheet supply.

Pockets and stepped geometry

Use CNC when a part needs recessed pockets, shoulders, counterbores or stepped faces that a 2D laser path cannot produce.

Holes and mating features

Define hole type, datum, mating hardware and inspection method on the drawing. We confirm the machining route before the paid sample.

Bases, fixtures and components

Build repeatable acrylic bases, holders, jigs, lab fixtures and OEM components in production quantities from 100 pieces per design.

Edge and surface finishing

Call out which edges are visible, functional or hidden. Machined edges can be left matte or finished by the approved polishing route.

Assembly and packing

Add bonded parts, inserts, labels and protective packing only after the sample proves fit, appearance and the final packout sequence.

Process decision

CNC Machining vs Laser Cutting

Use CNC for three-dimensional or fit-critical features; use laser cutting for efficient two-dimensional sheet profiles when the required edge and thickness are compatible. A mixed process is common, but the quote should state which route controls each feature.

What the Production Drawing Must Control

A useful CNC drawing separates functional dimensions from reference dimensions. It states the datum structure, limits, material, visible surfaces, edge condition, revision and inspection method so the sample can be approved against the same record used in production.

Acrylic CNC Service FAQ

What is the MOQ for acrylic CNC machining service?

Production starts at 100 pieces per design. A different geometry, material, thickness or controlling drawing revision may count as a separate design. A paid pre-production sample is ordered separately before the production run.

How much does acrylic CNC machining cost?

The quote is driven by starting stock, machine time, tool changes, workholding, quantity, inspection scope, finish and packing. Send the drawing and the quantity tiers you are considering; we return an itemized production quote within 24 hours. We do not apply a generic per-part price to unmatched geometry.

What tolerance can Wetop hold on a CNC acrylic part?

Tolerance is reviewed dimension by dimension against the drawing, material, stock condition, geometry, datum plan and measurement method. Mark fit-critical dimensions and their acceptable limits. We confirm the quoted capability and inspection method before sampling instead of promising one tolerance for the entire part.

Which file formats should I send?

Send STEP for 3D geometry, DXF for controlled 2D profiles and a dimensioned PDF that identifies critical dimensions, material, finish and revision. The CAD and DXF preparation guide explains how the files work together.

Should my acrylic part be CNC-machined or laser-cut?

CNC is normally the better route for pockets, steps, countersinks, controlled holes, thick stock and functional edge geometry. Laser cutting is efficient for repeated 2D profiles in suitable sheet thicknesses. The CNC versus laser guide separates the two by geometry and finish.

Can I approve a prototype before production?

Yes. Paid samples normally take 3-5 days after the drawing, material and acceptance criteria are approved. Sample fees are paid separately and never credited. Production starts only after written sample approval and the agreed payment gate.

Can Wetop sign an NDA before I share drawings?

Yes. Send the NDA requirement first and identify who controls the drawing release. We keep the approved revision, inspection plan and artwork references tied to the project record; no customer names or files are published without permission.

Can you ship CNC acrylic parts DDP?

Yes. Ask for FOB Shenzhen and DDP as separate quote lines if you need to compare factory price with door-to-door landed scope. The final DDP line depends on the packed dimensions, weight, destination and current freight and duty treatment.
