Acrylic Sign Holders
Custom sign holders built to your insert size, your brand, your environment. Not generic off-the-shelf stand-ups.
An acrylic sign holder is a clear display stand designed to present printed inserts — menus, pricing signs, wayfinding cards, promotional graphics — at eye level on counters, walls, and floors. Wetop Acrylic manufactures custom acrylic sign holders — also called plexiglass sign holders or perspex sign stands — in slant-back, T-style, wall-mounted, and floor-standing configurations. Any paper size from A6 to A3 and beyond. MOQ 50 pieces.

A slant-back acrylic sign holder is a single sheet of cast acrylic, heat-bent into an L-shape — one continuous piece with no joints or seams. The tall front panel tilts back 10–20° from vertical, and the short base lip sits flat on the counter. The insert drops in from the top and rests against the front panel, held in place by gravity and the backward tilt. The most common acrylic sign holder format worldwide.
Slant-back holders are our most-ordered sign holder product. The angled design tilts the insert toward the viewer at standing or seated eye level — no need to lean over the counter to read a menu or pricing sign. A clear acrylic sign holder on a counter disappears visually, so the viewer reads the insert, not the holder.
Each holder is heat-bent from a single sheet of cast acrylic — whether you call it acrylic, plexiglass, or perspex, the material and process are identical. A strip heater softens the acrylic along a precise line near the bottom, and the sheet is bent to form the L-shape. One continuous piece, no glue, no bond lines, no visible seams. The insert simply drops in from the open top and rests against the front panel — gravity and the backward tilt hold it in place. Standard thickness is 2–3mm for most sizes; 5mm for large-format (A3+).

T-Style Sign Holders & Menu Stands
A T-style acrylic sign holder has two parallel upright panels rising from a wide horizontal base — the insert slides between the panels from the top and is visible from both front and back. T-style holders come in two construction methods: heat-bent (one-piece, 2–3mm) and bonded (multi-piece, 4–5mm for a more premium display). The standard format for restaurant table signs, hotel room cards, and countertop double-sided displays.
T-style holders solve a problem slant-back holders can't: visibility from both sides. Place a T-style acrylic sign stand at the center of a restaurant table and every seat can read the daily specials. Put one on a checkout counter and both the cashier and the customer see the promotional offer.
Two parallel acrylic panels rise vertically from a flat horizontal base — wider than the sign for stability. The insert slides down between the two panels from the top. No moving parts, no clips, no springs — the panels grip the insert by friction, cut to your exact insert thickness.
Menu Holders & Table Tents
Menu holders are purpose-built for restaurant and hotel tables. We build three formats:
T-Style Size Guide
| Insert Size | Base Dimensions (W×D) | Slot Height | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 × 6in (102×152mm) | 130 × 60mm | 160mm | Photo holders, small promotional cards |
| A6 (105×148mm) | 130 × 60mm | 155mm | Table numbers, small menu cards, room signs |
| 5 × 7in (127×178mm) | 155 × 65mm | 185mm | Event cards, invitations, small menus |
| A5 (148×210mm) | 175 × 70mm | 218mm | Restaurant menus, hotel info cards, desk signs |
| Half-Letter (5.5×8.5in) | 170 × 70mm | 222mm | US restaurant table menus, checkout promos |
| Letter (8.5×11in) | 240 × 80mm | 285mm | US office signs, large promotional displays |
| A4 (210×297mm) | 240 × 80mm | 305mm | Large menu boards, promotional displays |
Base dimensions and slot depths are customizable. Heavier inserts (laminated menus, thick card stock) get wider bases for stability.

Insert Loading Methods
Slant-back and T-style sign holders load inserts in three ways. The loading method determines how easily you can swap signage — and which edges of the holder are sealed or open.
Open top — insert drops in from above. Easiest to swap. The most common format for slant-back and T-style holders.
Open bottom — insert slides up into the holder. Stays put until pulled out. Better for semi-permanent signage.
One side open — insert slides in horizontally. Used when the holder sits against a wall or top/bottom access is blocked.
Wall-Mounted Acrylic Sign Holders
A wall-mounted acrylic sign holder fixes a printed insert to a wall for wayfinding, room identification, directory signage, and corridor displays. Wetop manufactures custom wall-mounted sign holders with three mounting methods: standoff pin mounts (the most popular), 3M adhesive backing, and screw-through mounts. Available for inserts from A6 to poster size.
Wall-mounted acrylic sign holders turn a printed insert into professional-looking permanent signage. Two clear acrylic panels sandwich the insert, and mounting hardware holds the assembly against the wall. The effect is clean and modern — no frame, no border, just the sign floating on the wall surface.
For dedicated wall signage systems, see our Wall Sign Holders page with full specs on standoff hardware and ADA-compliant configurations.
Standoff Pin Mounts Most Popular
Four metal standoff pins — typically brushed stainless steel or satin chrome — pass through drilled holes at the corners of the acrylic panels and anchor into the wall. The pins create a 10–25mm gap between the wall and the sign, giving it a floating, dimensional look.
3M Adhesive Backing
Pre-applied 3M VHB adhesive tape on the back panel bonds directly to the wall. No drilling, no hardware visible. The most common wall-mount method for lightweight sign holders (A5 and smaller). Best for smooth surfaces — glass, tile, painted drywall, laminate.
Screw-Through Mounts
Screws pass through the acrylic panels into wall anchors. The screw heads sit flush or are covered with decorative caps. Most secure option — used in high-traffic public areas, hospitals, and schools.
Three Mounting Methods — Side Cross-Sections
Standard Wall-Mounted Sign Holder Sizes
Panel thickness scales with size — small holders use 2–3mm; Letter/A4 use 3mm; large format use 3–5mm.

| A4 (210×297mm) | 222 × 310mm | 3mm | Standoff or screw-through | International standard office & retail signage |
| Legal (8.5×14in) | 228 × 368mm | 3mm | Standoff | Legal notices, extended menus, schedules |

Floor-Standing & Pedestal Sign Holders
Floor-standing acrylic sign holders display signs at eye level without wall mounting. A clear acrylic post or metal pole supports a sign holder panel at 1000–1400mm height, with a weighted base for stability. Wetop builds custom floor-standing sign holders for hotel lobbies, trade show booths, queuing areas, and retail wayfinding.
When you need a sign visible from across a room — lobby wayfinding, queue management, trade show booth branding — a floor-standing sign holder puts the message at eye level without touching a wall.
Acrylic Post Floor Stands
A clear acrylic tube or rectangular post rises from a weighted acrylic base. The sign holder panel at the top holds an A4 or A3 insert. The entire unit is acrylic — post, base, and holder — creating a fully transparent look. Popular for hotel lobbies and premium retail where the sign needs to feel minimal.
Metal Pole with Acrylic Top
A brushed stainless steel or chrome pole on a metal base, with an acrylic sign holder panel at the top. More stable than all-acrylic stands for high-traffic areas. The pole is standardized (25mm or 32mm diameter); the acrylic sign panel is custom.
Standard Heights
| Configuration | Total Height | Insert Size | Base Size | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tabletop pedestal | 300–500mm | A5 or A4 | 150 × 150mm | Counter-height sign, reception desk |
| Half-height stand | 700–900mm | A4 | 250 × 250mm | Seated-area signs, low queuing |
| Standard floor stand | 1000–1200mm | A4 or A3 | 300 × 300mm | Lobby wayfinding, trade shows |
| Tall floor stand | 1300–1400mm | A3 or poster | 350 × 350mm | Event signage, retail entrance |

Get a Free QuoteWhy Acrylic Sign Holders Over Metal or Wood?
Acrylic sign holders offer crystal-clear visibility, lightweight portability, and lower cost than metal or wood alternatives. The clear material disappears visually — customers see the sign, not the holder. Acrylic is also lighter, easier to ship in volume, and accepts direct printing for branding. For sign holders, acrylic is the industry standard.
| Factor | Acrylic (PMMA) | Metal | Wood |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visibility | Crystal-clear — insert fully visible, holder disappears | Opaque frame borders the insert | Opaque frame borders the insert |
| Weight | Lightweight (~1.19 g/cm³) | Heavy — especially floor stands | Medium |
| Branding | Print, engrave, or etch directly on acrylic | Engrave or plate | Sticker, paint, or burn |
| Custom sizes | Laser-cut and CNC-cut — any size or shape | CNC or welded — limited profiles | CNC or hand-cut |
| Cost (at volume) | Lowest for custom runs | Higher — machining + finishing | Mid-range |
| Durability | Shatter-resistant, won't rust | Durable but heavy, may rust | Warps with humidity, scuffs |
| Shipping | Light, nestable, low breakage | Heavy, expensive to ship | Moderate weight, can scratch |
| Best for | Retail, restaurants, offices, trade shows | Permanent outdoor, industrial | Rustic themes, artisan retail |
When metal or wood makes sense: Brushed metal sign holders suit permanent outdoor installations or industrial-themed spaces. Wood frames work for farmhouse restaurants, boutique bakeries, and artisan market stalls. For volume signage programs — especially chains with 50+ locations — acrylic's light weight, low cost, and brand-printable surface make it the practical choice.
For a broader material comparison across all display types, see the Acrylic vs Glass comparison on our Acrylic Display Stands hub page.
What Affects Acrylic Sign Holder Pricing?
Custom acrylic sign holder pricing depends on four factors: acrylic thickness, holder size, holder type (slant-back is simplest; wall-mounted and floor-standing add hardware), and order quantity. We don't publish fixed prices because every holder is custom — here's what moves the number so you can plan your budget.
Acrylic Thickness
A 5mm sign holder uses 2.5× the material of a 2mm holder the same size. For standard tabletop holders, 3mm is the sweet spot — rigid enough to stand firmly, thin enough to stay cost-effective.
Holder Size
An A3 holder uses 4× the acrylic of an A5 holder. Size is the second-largest cost driver after order quantity.
Holder Type
Slant-back (single heat-bent sheet) is the most affordable. T-style adds a second panel or bend. Wall-mounted adds standoff hardware. Floor-standing adds a post, base, and assembly.
Order Quantity
The biggest price break is between 50 and 200 pieces. At 1,000+ units, per-unit cost drops significantly because setup time is amortized.

What paper sizes fit standard acrylic sign holders?
We build acrylic sign holders for every standard paper size: A6 (105×148mm), A5 (148×210mm), A4 (210×297mm), A3 (297×420mm), US Letter (8.5×11in / 216×279mm), US Legal (8.5×14in / 216×356mm), and half-letter (5.5×8.5in). The holder's internal slot is cut 1–2mm wider than the insert for easy loading. If your insert is a non-standard size — menu cards, promotional flyers, shelf tags — send us the dimensions and we'll size the holder to fit.
Can acrylic sign holders be used outdoors?
Standard acrylic (PMMA) handles outdoor use in covered or semi-covered areas — hotel entrances, restaurant patios, covered walkways. It won't yellow from moderate UV exposure and is more shatter-resistant than glass. For full-sun exposure over extended periods, we recommend UV-stabilized acrylic, which resists yellowing and brittleness for 5+ years outdoors. We also add a weighted base or wall-mount option for outdoor holders to prevent wind displacement.
Can you make double-sided acrylic sign holders?
Yes. Our T-style sign holders are inherently double-sided — the insert is visible from both front and back, making them ideal for table centers and countertops where customers approach from either direction. For slant-back holders, we build back-to-back configurations with two angled slots sharing a single base. Wall-mounted holders can also be made with a clear back panel instead of opaque, so the sign is visible from behind through glass partitions.
Can you make custom-shaped acrylic sign holders?
Yes. Beyond standard rectangular formats, we laser-cut acrylic sign holders in custom silhouettes — rounded corners, arch tops, die-cut brand shapes, and asymmetric profiles. The insert slot is CNC-routed to match your custom shape. Custom shapes require a design file (AI, PDF, or DXF) or a detailed sketch with dimensions. MOQ for custom shapes is the same as standard: 50 pieces.
How much do custom acrylic sign holders cost?
Four factors drive sign holder pricing: acrylic thickness (2mm for lightweight tabletop holders vs 5mm for heavy-duty floor stands), holder size (A6 uses a fraction of the material of A3), holder type (slant-back is simplest; T-style and wall-mounted add fabrication steps), and order quantity (unit cost drops significantly above 200 pieces). A slant-back A4 holder in 3mm clear acrylic with diamond-polished edges is our most affordable configuration. Silk-screen logo printing adds a flat setup fee plus per-unit cost.
