Acrylic Risers
Custom display risers built to your counter, your products, your brand. Not generic shelf props.
An acrylic riser is a clear, tiered display platform that elevates products to different heights for maximum visibility on retail counters, trade show tables, and display shelves. Wetop Acrylic manufactures custom acrylic risers — also known as plexiglass risers or perspex display risers — in stepped, nesting, U-shaped, and cube configurations. Clear, frosted, colored, or mirrored acrylic. Diamond-polished edges. MOQ 50 pieces.

Details ›Stepped Display Risers
Stepped acrylic risers are tiered display platforms with 2–5 ascending levels bonded into a single unit. Each tier raises products 25–50mm above the one in front, creating a stadium-style layout that keeps every item visible from the customer's perspective. Wetop manufactures custom stepped risers in any tier count, size, and material.
Stepped risers are our highest-volume riser product — they work everywhere a counter holds products. The stepped profile gives each row full visibility without requiring customers to pick up front items to see what's behind them. A 3-tier stepped riser on a cosmetics counter increases product interaction because every SKU is visible at a glance.
We build stepped risers from 2 tiers to 5+ tiers, with step heights of 25mm, 35mm, or 50mm per tier depending on product size. Whether you call the material acrylic, plexiglass, or perspex — the manufacturing process is the same. Each tier is precision-cut and solvent-bonded into a single rigid unit — no gaps, no loose joints, no wobbling.
Standard Stepped Riser Sizes
Our most-ordered configurations — all sizes are fully customizable.
| Configuration | Overall Size (W×D×H) | Step Height | Tier Depth | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2-tier, narrow | 300 × 200 × 75mm | 35mm | 100mm | Cosmetics testers, small bottles |
| 3-tier, standard | 350 × 250 × 110mm | 35mm | 80mm | Retail counters, trade shows |
| 3-tier, wide | 500 × 300 × 110mm | 35mm | 100mm | Electronics accessories, boxed products |
| 4-tier, standard | 400 × 350 × 150mm | 35mm | 85mm | Product launches, cosmetics full-range |
| 5-tier, display wall | 500 × 450 × 200mm | 40mm | 90mm | Showrooms, permanent installations |
Step height matters
25mm steps work for small items like lip products and samples. 35mm is the sweet spot for most retail products — bottles, boxes, packages. 50mm steps suit larger items like boxed electronics, handbags, or tall bottles.

Nesting, U-Shaped & Cube Risers
Nesting risers, U-shaped risers, and cube risers are separate display pieces in graduated sizes that stack, nest, or arrange independently. Unlike stepped risers (one bonded unit), these configurations let you rearrange the layout for different products and displays — and they ship flat or nested, cutting shipping costs.
If your displays change frequently — seasonal promotions, rotating product launches, trade shows where setup time matters — nesting and cube risers give you flexibility that stepped risers don't.
Nesting Risers
A set of 3–5 U-shaped or rectangular risers in graduated sizes. The smallest fits inside the next, which fits inside the next. Set them up as a tiered display, then nest them back together for compact storage. A 3-piece nesting set stores in the footprint of the largest riser.
U-Shaped Risers
Open-bottom inverted-U shape. Flip one over and stack another on top for instant tiered display. The open bottom means you can run cable for LED-lit products or tuck price cards underneath. Available in sets of 2, 3, or 4 graduated sizes.
Cube & Pedestal Risers
Solid blocks or hollow cubes at 3–5 different heights. Arrange them in clusters for a gallery-style display — minimal, modern, lets the product be the focus. Popular with jewelry brands and art galleries. For solid acrylic blocks in other applications, see our Acrylic Blocks hub page.

Cosmetics Counter Risers
Cosmetics counter risers are acrylic display platforms designed for the specific dimensions of skincare bottles, makeup palettes, fragrance testers, and sample sets. Wetop builds cosmetics risers with integrated tester slots, brand logo printing, and mirrored or frosted finishes — sized to fit standard cosmetics counter depths (300–450mm).
Cosmetics risers are different from general retail risers because the products are small, the branding is everything, and the counter space is tight. A 30ml serum bottle that's hidden behind a larger moisturizer is a 30ml serum that doesn't get tested.
We build cosmetics risers with narrow step depths (60–80mm per tier), shallow step heights (25–30mm), and widths that match standard cosmetics counter modules. Need a matching tray for tester overflow? See our Acrylic Trays for cosmetics tray options.
Tester Cutouts
Circular or rectangular cutouts that hold tester bottles upright. Prevents tipping, keeps the counter clean.
Mirrored Back Panel
Gives the display visual depth and reflects products from behind. Mirrored acrylic, not glass — lightweight and shatter-proof.
Logo Strip
Silk-screen or UV-printed brand logo along the front edge. Permanent, scratch-resistant.
Frosted Acrylic
Diffuses light for a soft, premium look. Popular with skincare and spa brands.
Standard Cosmetics Counter Depths
| Counter Type | Typical Depth | Riser Depth We Recommend |
|---|---|---|
| Department store counter | 400–450mm | 250–300mm (leaves room for tester use) |
| Boutique / spa counter | 300–350mm | 200–250mm |
| Trade show table (6ft) | 450mm | 300mm |
| Sephora-style open shelving | 250–300mm | 200–250mm |
We switched our countertop risers from injection-molded plastic to Wetop's frosted acrylic. The difference in perceived quality was immediate — our retail partners started requesting the new risers for every counter.

Acrylic Riser Thickness Guide
Acrylic thickness determines a riser's structural rigidity, visual weight, and cost. Thicker acrylic holds heavier products and looks more premium, but costs more and weighs more. Here's what we recommend by use case.
| Thickness | Weight Capacity | Visual Feel | Best For | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3mm | <500g per tier | Slim, minimal | Samples, brochures, lightweight cosmetics | Lowest |
| 5mm | <2kg per tier | Clean, retail-standard | Cosmetics, skincare, small retail products | Standard |
| 6mm | <3kg per tier | Solid, professional | Trade show displays, boxed products | +10–15% |
| 8mm | <5kg per tier | Substantial, premium | Electronics, luxury goods, shoes | +25–35% |
| 10mm | <8kg per tier | Thick, gallery-style | Jewelry pedestals, art display, heavy ceramics | +50–60% |
| 12mm | <12kg per tier | Monolithic | Museum-grade, permanent installations | +80–100% |
Weight capacities are per-tier estimates for a 300mm-wide riser. Wider risers need thicker acrylic at the same weight. We verify structural requirements for every custom order.
Edge finish impact
Diamond polishing is standard on every riser — it looks best on 5mm and thicker acrylic, where the polished edge catches light and creates a glass-like glow. On 3mm acrylic the edge is too thin to appreciate the polish, so we use flame polishing instead.

Why Acrylic Risers Over Wood or Metal?
Acrylic risers offer crystal-clear product visibility, lightweight portability, and direct-to-surface branding that wood and metal risers cannot match. Acrylic is 50% lighter than glass, shatter-resistant, and can be laser-cut into custom shapes — making it the preferred material for retail counters, trade shows, and cosmetics displays.
| Factor | Acrylic (PMMA) | Wood | Metal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visibility | Crystal-clear — products fully visible | Opaque | Opaque |
| Weight | Lightweight (~1.19 g/cm³) | Heavy | Heaviest |
| Branding | Print, engrave, or etch directly | Sticker, paint, or wood burn | Engrave or plate |
| Custom shapes | Laser-cut, CNC, thermoformed | CNC only | CNC, welded |
| Durability | Shatter-resistant, won't warp | Warps with humidity | Scratches, can rust |
| Cleaning | Wipe-clean, food-safe available | Absorbs stains | Fingerprint-prone |
| Cost (custom) | Mid-range | Low–mid | Higher |
| Best for | Retail, cosmetics, trade shows | Rustic / artisan retail | Industrial, permanent |
When wood or metal makes sense: Rustic-themed retail (farmhouse bakeries, artisan markets) suits wood. Heavy-duty permanent installations (museum plinths, outdoor kiosks) suit metal. For everything else — especially where product visibility and branding matter — acrylic is the standard.

How Acrylic Risers Are Built
Custom acrylic risers are manufactured from cast acrylic sheet (PMMA) using a combination of CNC cutting, laser cutting, and solvent bonding. Stepped risers are bonded into permanent units with chemically fused joints. Nesting and cube risers are bent from single sheets or assembled from precision-cut panels.
Solvent Bonding
Acrylic panels — whether branded as acrylic, plexiglass, or perspex — are joined using solvent cement that chemically fuses the material at the molecular level. The joint is as strong as the acrylic itself. No glue residue, no visible seam.
CNC + Laser Cutting
Panels are cut via CNC routing (for 6mm+ thick acrylic) or laser cutting (3–5mm). CNC produces a clean matte edge. Laser produces a polished edge on thinner material.
Diamond Polishing
Exposed edges are diamond-polished to optical clarity — the edge transmits light like the face of the acrylic. We use the same polishing line for risers, display cases, and acrylic shelves.
Heat Bending
U-shaped risers are bent from a single sheet using precision strip heaters. No joints, no bonding — one continuous piece with controlled bend radius.

Get a Free QuoteWhat Affects Acrylic Riser Pricing?
Custom acrylic riser pricing depends on four factors: acrylic thickness, overall size and complexity, material type, and order quantity. Diamond polishing is included as standard on every riser. We don't publish fixed prices because every riser is custom — but here's what moves the number so you can plan your budget.
Acrylic Thickness
The biggest cost driver. A riser in 8mm uses 60% more material than the same riser in 5mm. For standard retail risers, 5mm is the best balance of cost and performance.
Size & Complexity
Larger dimensions use more material. Multi-tier stepped risers cost more than single-tier pedestals. Nesting sets (3–5 pieces) are priced per set. More panels and bonding joints = higher labor.
Material Type
Clear is standard pricing. Frosted and colored add 10–20%. Mirrored adds 20–30%. Black is between clear and frosted.
Order Quantity
Unit cost drops significantly as quantity increases. The biggest price break is between 50 and 200 pieces.

What acrylic thickness is best for display risers?
For standard retail risers up to 300mm wide, 5mm acrylic provides solid stability and a clean look. For wider risers (300–500mm) or risers holding heavy products like electronics, 8mm or 10mm adds structural rigidity. Cosmetics risers typically use 5mm. Trade show risers that need to ship flat and reassemble work best at 6–8mm. We don't recommend anything under 3mm for risers — too flexible under load.
What is the difference between stepped risers and nesting risers?
Stepped risers are a single bonded unit with 2–5 ascending tiers — each product sits at a different height. Nesting risers are a set of separate U-shaped or cube pieces in graduated sizes that stack or nest inside each other for storage and shipping. Stepped risers look cleaner and cost less per unit. Nesting risers are more versatile — you can rearrange them and they ship flat.
Can you make acrylic risers in custom colors?
Yes. We offer 50+ standard acrylic colors plus custom Pantone matching. Popular choices for retail risers: clear (maximum product visibility), frosted white (soft premium look), matte black (high contrast for jewelry and cosmetics), and mirrored (jewelry and watches). Two-tone risers — black base with clear tiers, for example — are also available.
How much do custom acrylic risers cost?
Four factors drive riser pricing: acrylic thickness (5mm vs 10mm), overall size and complexity (multi-tier stepped risers cost more than single pedestals, nesting sets are priced per set), material type (frosted and mirrored cost 10–20% more than clear), and order quantity (unit cost drops significantly above 200 pieces). Diamond polishing is included as standard on every riser. A simple 3-tier clear acrylic riser in 5mm is our most affordable configuration.
Do your acrylic risers ship flat-packed?
It depends on the configuration. Nesting risers and cube risers always ship nested or flat — they're designed for it. Stepped risers are bonded units and ship fully assembled with individual foam protection. For large orders, we design stepped risers with interlocking tabs so they can ship disassembled and snap together on-site — this cuts shipping volume by up to 40%.
