Three solid clear acrylic display blocks of 30, 50 and 80 mm height holding a cream jar, a serum bottle and a lipstick on a marble cosmetics counter

A clear acrylic display block is a solid, single-piece cast PMMA block polished on all six faces, not a bonded hollow cube. Wetop cuts display blocks, also called solid acrylic blocks or clear acrylic blocks, to the footprint and height of the product they hold, for cosmetics, jewelry and retail display teams.

  • 40–60 mm for fragrance and retail products
  • 80–100 mm for a single hero product

Edge profile

  • Square is the baseline; beveled adds a 45° chamfer
  • Rounded and full-radius edges reduce glare in photography
  • Frosted top face or mirror base on request

Cast PMMA

  • About 92% light transmission and roughly half the weight of glass
  • Annealed after machining; film on polished faces for shipping
  • LED base built to your drawing and lighting spec

How every display block is finished

A display block has nowhere to hide a flaw: every face is visible and the light runs through it. These four steps are done on every block, and checked on the paid sample before production.

  1. 01

    Cut from cast PMMA

Optical-grade cast sheet, not extruded or recycled, cut to your footprint and height.

  2. 02

    Diamond-polished on six faces

Every visible face and edge polished clear, in the edge profile you chose.

  3. 03

    Annealed

Stress relieved after machining, so blocks do not craze or crack weeks later.

  4. 04

    100% inspected and wrapped

Each block checked against the approved sample, filmed and individually wrapped. QC photos before shipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an acrylic display block?

An acrylic display block is a solid, single-piece block of optical-grade cast PMMA, diamond-polished on every face, that lifts a product on a counter, shelf or window. It carries no artwork: the clear material is the display. It transmits about 92% of visible light, so whatever sits on top seems to float. Cosmetics, fragrance, jewelry and watch brands order them as risers and product bases; e-commerce studios use them as photography props. We cut them from 10mm to 100mm thick in any footprint, with square, beveled, rounded, or full-radius edges, from 100 pieces per size.

What's the MOQ for custom display blocks?

Our MOQ is 100 pieces per size. A matched set of several heights ordered together (for example 30, 50 and 80 mm on one footprint) counts as one design, so 100 sets meets the minimum however many blocks are in each set. The floor is set by cutting setup and edge-polishing programming, which have to amortize across the run. Below 100, use a paid sample (USD 200–500, never credited to production) to validate the size and edge profile. Above 200 the unit cost drops noticeably, and again at 500+.

Are display blocks solid or hollow?

The blocks on this page are solid: cut from one piece of cast acrylic, with no seams and no cavity, which gives them weight, stability and the deep glass-like look. A hollow display cube is bonded from acrylic sheet into a box; it is much lighter and suits large display volumes or a product that sits inside. Hollow cubes, tall columns and floor pedestals are on our acrylic display pedestals page, and stepped or nesting risers built from sheet are on acrylic risers.

How thick should a display block be?

Thickness follows the weight of the product and the proportion you want. Lipstick, ring and small-cosmetics blocks usually land at 20–30mm, enough to read as a solid base without overwhelming a small item. Fragrance and retail product blocks run 40–60mm for a substantial, premium feel. A single hero product or launch piece goes to 80–100mm, where the block itself becomes part of the display. For photography, buyers often order a height set (20/30/50mm) so the shooter can vary elevation on set. Send us the product weight and footprint and we'll recommend the thickness.

Can a display block carry our logo?

Yes. A small laser-engraved or UV-printed mark on the front face or an edge keeps the block a display piece while carrying your brand. When the logo is the point of the block, for reception desks, counters or client gifts, see our acrylic logo blocks. Award blocks and paperweights given as recognition are part of our acrylic awards line.

What edge finishes are available on display blocks?

Four options: square (sharp geometric look, most affordable), beveled (45° chamfer that catches the light at the edge), rounded (smooth radius, safe to handle), and full-radius bullnose (semicircular, the most elegant and the best choice for glare-free photography). All edges are diamond-polished to optical clarity. Rounded and bullnose add 2–3 days to sample production and a small per-unit cost. Photography-prop buyers usually specify full-radius to eliminate hard edge reflections; retail-riser buyers often choose square or beveled for a crisp modern line.

Do display blocks scratch easily, and do they ship protected?

Cast acrylic is softer than glass, so polished faces can scuff if mishandled — that's why every block ships with protective film applied to all polished surfaces for international freight. Remove the film on receipt. The film is transit protection only, not a long-term display coating. For high-touch retail environments, we can recommend a harder surface grade or a scratch-resistant option at RFQ. For photography, buyers often keep spare film on hand to re-cover blocks between shoots.

How much do custom display blocks cost?

Published FOB Shenzhen reference: an 80×80×50mm clear cast PMMA block with square edges and six polished faces is $12 each at 100 pieces, $8 at 250 and $6 at 500. Three factors move the price: block size and thickness (more acrylic means more material and polishing), edge profile (square is the baseline; full-radius costs more to polish) and quantity per size or set. Packing and destination are quoted with it. Send your dimensions, edge profile and quantity and we quote within 24 hours.

Are acrylic display blocks worth it?

For a product that should look premium and stay put, yes. A solid block is heavier and steadier than a hollow cube of the same size, and it bends light at its polished edges, which is what makes the product on top look lifted. Against glass it is roughly half the weight and does not shatter when knocked off a counter, and it can be cut to any footprint; crystal is heavier and costs more. A hollow cube is the better buy only for large volumes, where solid acrylic would be too heavy and too expensive.
