Our floor is 50 cases per design for a fully custom build (your dimensions, your latch type, your branding, your insert tooling). Below 50, a stock-format case with custom UV-printed branding is usually the better commercial path — we keep a handful of standard footprints in cast PMMA and can run a 144-tile or 152-tile insert against any of them with 5-7 day sample turn. For boutique gift programs at 12-25 cases we quote at sample-tier per unit. The cost sweet spot for tooling amortization is 250-500 cases per design.

5 mm cast PMMA is the production-tier default for retail-grade mahjong display cases. Drop to 4 mm only on budget programs where unit price is the gating factor; move to 6 mm for premium boxed-gift or collector-tier cases. Thickness drives both perceived weight in the buyer's hand and impact resistance under freight and household drops. Three latch families ship in this category. Magnetic-only is the cheapest (~$0.40/case) but fails by month 14-18 under freight cycling. Mechanical interlock survives 5,000+ open/close cycles at ~$1.40/case. Combination magnetic + mechanical is the production-grade default for premium cases — magnetic gives the audible 'click' buyers expect, mechanical handles freight load at ~$1.80-2.80/case. Spec the combination latch on anything retailing above $80 or shipping internationally. The cost premium over magnetic-only is far below the cost of a single freight-loss return.

Yes — this is most of what we ship in this category. Mail us a sample tile set (or 6-8 tiles plus exact CAD if shipping is impractical), and we measure to ± 0.1 mm before drawing the silicone-cradle insert. The cradle fit tolerance references your actual tile body, not the nominal spec — tile manufacturers run ± 0.3-0.5 mm tolerance bands, so the case has to be dimensioned against the real tiles to avoid binding or rattle in transit.

Display cases are designed for shelf or counter presentation — typically clear or lightly tinted cast PMMA, magnetic-flap or lift-off lid, UV-printed brand panel visible through the lid, internal angled tier for set presentation. Travel cases are designed for transit between play sessions — heavier-wall cast PMMA (5-6 mm minimum), combination latch, silicone-cradle insert with ± 0.2 mm tile-fit tolerance, ISTA 3A drop-test sign-off. Many of our buyers order both formats in a single PO — display case for retail/showroom, travel case for end-customer.

Most volume runs ship as a bundle — tile set + case + rack-and-pusher + mat + dice in one SKU. Bundle production is more cost-efficient than separate orders because the cast PMMA mill batch covers all components, the brand color stays consistent across set / case / pusher, and freight consolidates. Sample turn 3-5 days. Production 15-20 days for a 200-case run. Sea freight Shenzhen to US west coast 14-18 days; air freight 3 days. Total order-to-warehouse for a typical US buyer 5-7 weeks. Add 14 days on the front for cases shipping in a custom Pantone colorway requiring a UV-printed lid panel that needs a pre-production proof.

Three insert tiers: silicone-cradle (production-grade default, ± 0.2 mm tile-fit tolerance, ISTA 3A drop-test certified, ~8-12% of unit cost), foam-cut (budget alternative, ± 0.5 mm tolerance, lower freight performance, ~4-6% of unit cost), and rigid-divider (premium presentation tier with individual tile slot, ± 0.1 mm tolerance, ~12-18% of unit cost). The silicone-cradle is what we ship by default and what we recommend for any case retailing above $60.

Yes — full-color UV print on cast PMMA cases with clear-coat seal. Pantone-matched color register at ΔE ≤ 2 (CIE 2000). Multi-pass print for opaque solids. Print-area sizing is limited by the lid panel dimensions; bleed and registration tolerance ± 0.5 mm. UV-printed branding on the lid is the single highest-ROI customization on the case product line — it converts a generic clamshell into a brand-asset for ~$1.50-3 per case.

Reference $12-28 per case at production-tier volumes, depending on substrate (4mm vs 5mm vs 6mm), latch (magnetic-only vs combination), insert (foam vs silicone-cradle vs rigid-divider), and finishing (clear vs UV-printed vs wood-laminated). Premium tier (6mm cast PMMA + combination latch + rigid-divider insert + UV-printed lid panel) lands at the upper end of the range. Budget tier (4mm + magnetic-only + foam) at the lower end. Like the tile-set line, we quote variables, not flat prices.
