## Golf tournament awards: what an event usually hands out {#award-list}

Golf tournament awards follow a familiar list: the overall and flight winners by score, skill prizes on chosen holes, a hole-in-one award, and a gift for every player. Each group has a different job, so each suits a different acrylic format. Knowing the list before you order keeps the quote to a few designs instead of one per prize.

| Award | Who receives it | Common acrylic format |
|---|---|---|
| Overall champion, low gross or low net | One player or team | Panel trophy on a base, or a thick solid block |
| Flight winners | Winners in each handicap flight | Flat plaque on a slot base |
| Closest to the pin | One player per par-3 contest hole | Small plaque or desk block |
| Longest drive | One player, often by division | Small plaque or desk block |
| Hole-in-one | Any player who makes an ace | Display case with ball and scorecard, or a plaque |
| Player gift | Every entrant | Logo block, ball marker or single-ball case |

Golf outing prizes for charity and corporate events usually keep the skill prizes and the player gift and drop the flights. Club championships keep the flights and add a perpetual trophy that stays at the club.

## Which acrylic format suits each award {#formats}

Acrylic covers the whole list from one factory: flat plaques in 3–15 mm sheet, solid blocks 10–50 mm thick, trophies built from cut panels on acrylic, wood or metal bases, and cases that hold a ball. Sharing one logo treatment and finish across these formats makes a season's awards read as one set.

Choose by how the award is handled and shown:

- Panel trophies suit the champion's award. A tall cut panel with an engraved course mark on a black or wood base photographs well at the prize table. Our [custom acrylic awards](/products/acrylic-awards/) range covers trophies, plaques and award frames.
- Solid blocks suit desk-sized prizes and player gifts. A thick block with diamond-polished faces feels heavier than its size suggests. See our [custom acrylic blocks](/products/acrylic-blocks/) for block sizes and finishes.
- Flat plaques suit flight winners and skill prizes because the text area is large and the piece stands on a slot base or hangs on standoffs.
- Shadow boxes suit framed keepsakes such as a flag, a scorecard and a ball mounted together on a backing. Our [custom acrylic shadow box](/products/acrylic-boxes/acrylic-shadow-boxes/) page covers depths and backings.

Acrylic weighs about 1.2 g/cm³,[^makeitfrom-pmma] roughly half the weight of glass, and does not shatter if a trophy is knocked off a table in a clubhouse or a marquee. That matters when awards travel to an off-site outing in a car trunk.

## Hole-in-one plaques and display cases {#hole-in-one}

A hole-in-one award records one shot: the golfer's name, the date, the course, the hole number and yardage, often the club used and the witnesses. The most wanted version also keeps the ball and the signed scorecard. That makes it part display case, part plaque.

The ball sets the case size. A conforming golf ball is at least 1.680 inches (42.67 mm) across,[^randa-ball] so a cup, a tee recess or a single-ball cube is sized from that, with a little clearance for the ball's actual diameter. The scorecard slot is sized from the course's own card, because card sizes differ from course to course. Measure one card and send it with the drawing.

The hard part is timing. Aces are unpredictable, and nobody orders 100 awards for one golfer. The approach that works at our 100-piece minimum is for the club, course or tournament series to order hole-in-one displays in advance as one design with its own logo, then hand one to each golfer who makes an ace. The golfer's ball and signed scorecard personalize it. If the club wants the name and date shown too, a slot for a printed insert card lets the pro shop print it on the day.

Our [golf ball display cases](/products/acrylic-cases/golf-ball-display-cases/) page lists common ball, tee and wall case sizes and the options for an engraved plaque panel.

## Plan the season, not each event {#season}

Production starts at 100 pieces per design, so acrylic awards are bought most efficiently for a season or a series, not one event at a time. A different award title, date or winner line on each piece is variable text, not a new design, so one plaque design can carry every prize title used across the season's events.

A practical season order for a club or series:

1. One trophy design for the major events, with the event name and date as variable text.
2. One plaque design for flight winners and skill prizes, with the award title as variable text.
3. One hole-in-one display design, ordered as blanks with the course mark.
4. One player gift, such as a logo block, at the quantity of the season's total entrants.

Winners' names are not known until the scores are in. Engrave or print the award title and event on each piece in advance, and either leave the winner's line blank or add a printed insert card after the round. A trophy dealer or golf retailer that supplies many clubs can run the same plan with each club's mark as a separate design.

## Work back from the first event {#timeline}

For awards in hand before a spring season, plan the order so production finishes before Chinese New Year, which falls on February 6, 2027. Factories in China close around the holiday. Sending the brief by about December 22, 2026 leaves room for the sample and production to finish by late January.

The back-plan, using our published sample and production times and our planning transit estimates:

| Step | Days | Date |
|---|---|---|
| Brief, quote and artwork proof | about 5 | Dec 22 |
| Paid sample made | 3–5 | Dec 27 |
| Sample couriered and your review | about 5 + 3 | Jan 1 to Jan 9 |
| Production after approval | 15–20 | Jan 9 to Jan 29 |
| Arrival by air (10–12 days) | | about Feb 10 |
| Arrival by regular sea (about 35 days) | | about Mar 5 |

The proof, review and pre-holiday ex-factory days are planning assumptions; your quote confirms the real dates. For a summer or autumn event, the same steps apply without the holiday: allow about 50 days by air or about 73 by sea from brief to arrival.

## What golf awards cost {#cost}

Our published FOB Shenzhen references cover the block and case formats. An 80 × 80 × 50 mm clear display block with six polished faces is $12 each at 100 pieces, $8 at 250 and $6 at 500. A 100 mm cube case in 3 mm clear acrylic with a magnetic lid is $6–12 per unit at 100 pieces and $3–6 at 500.

| Reference spec (FOB Shenzhen) | 100 pcs | 250 pcs | 500 pcs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display block, 80 × 80 × 50 mm, six polished faces | $12 | $8 | $6 |
| Logo block, 100 × 60 × 20 mm, full-color UV print | $12 | $9 | $7 |
| Cube case, 100 mm, 3 mm clear, magnetic lid | $6–12 | | $3–6 |

Player-gift blocks follow the [custom logo blocks](/products/acrylic-blocks/acrylic-logo-blocks/) reference above. Trophies, plaques and hole-in-one displays have no published price because the panel size, thickness, base, ball cup and scorecard slot move the cost. On one delivered order, 400–450 solid clear awards about 28 mm thick, laser-engraved with a two-color UV-printed wordmark, came to USD 6–9 each FOB Shenzhen.

The paid sample costs USD 200–500 depending on complexity, is paid separately and is never credited to production. Most products carry no tooling fee; when a complex part needs one, it is stated in the written quote.

## Send a golf awards RFQ {#rfq}

A complete golf awards brief gets a quote within 24 hours. List the formats and the quantity per design for the season, not a total, so the quote shows which designs reach the 100-piece minimum and what each one costs.

Include these items:

1. Each award format and its size, or a photo of an award you like with the size marked.
2. The award titles and the events they cover.
3. Logo files for the course, club or event as production-ready vector artwork.
4. For hole-in-one displays: one scorecard to measure, and whether you want a tee, a cup or an insert slot.
5. Base, box and packing.
6. First event date and destination.

We build from your artwork and do not design or redraw logos. Samples take 3–5 days and production 15–20 days after approval, and every piece is inspected against the approved sample before shipment.
